A UK Entrepreneur Visa, previously known as a "Tier 1 Entrepreneur Visa", was a visa category that allowed individuals to enter the UK to establish and run a new business or take over an existing one, requiring them to demonstrate a significant investment of funds (typically £200,000) in their venture; however, this visa category is now closed to new applicants and has been replaced by the "Innovator Founder Visa" for aspiring entrepreneurs seeking to start a business in the UK
Innovator Visa (For Experienced Entrepreneurs)
Key Features :
- Requires a minimum investment of £50,000 in a UK business.
- Business idea must be innovative, viable, and scalable (approved by an endorsing body).
- Allows Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) after 3 years if business is successful.
Start-up Visa (For New Entrepreneurs)
Key Features :
- No investment required, but business must be endorsed by a UK university or business body.
- Visa valid for 2 years (can switch to Innovator Visa for further stay).
- No direct route to permanent residency, but possible after switching to an Innovator Visa.
Requirements for Both Visas :
- Business plan with innovation potential.
- Endorsement from an approved UK body.
- English proficiency (IELTS 5.5+).
